Jesus had a different attitude towards women than the culture of his day. Back then, women had no social status, and they were often assigned inferior roles. But the women with Jesus were happy to serve quietly and they gave generously out of their resources. 

A key woman in that group was St. Mary Magdalene, mentioned a dozen times in the Gospels, which is more than most apostles. Who was she, and how did The Da Vinci Code get the facts so wrong? Father Chris Alar, MIC, explains.
