St. James the Greater

Among the Twelve Apostles, few figures are as fascinating, mysterious, and influential as St. James the Greater. He was one of Christ's closest companions, one of the first martyrs among the apostles and the patron saint of pilgrims. His life touches everything from the Sea of Galilee to Jerusalem and, eventually, to the famous pilgrimage routes of Spain.

Father Chris Alar, MIC, shares the story of this important saint, whose feast day is on July 25.

Then join Fr. Mark Baron, MIC, for the next episode of the “Marian Route to USA 250” series, exploring the Lower Southwest, where Spanish missionaries planted the cross, celebrated the Sacraments, and entrusted entire regions to the care of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
