Will You Choose Mercy or Demand Justice? | Fr. Tyler Mentzer
Fr. Tyler Mentzer, MIC, reminds us of the importance of recognizing the signs of the times and preparing our hearts for the coming of Jesus Christ. Before coming as the Just Judge, Jesus offers His mercy to the world, inviting everyone to repentance, conversion, and salvation. Just as people can interpret the signs of nature and predict changes in the weather, we are also called to recognize the spiritual signs of our times and understand what God is asking of us. His message is clear: repent, believe in the Gospel, and turn to God's mercy while there is still time. We must not rely on our own strength or attempt to save ourselves, because only God can grant us the gift of eternal life.
Fr. Tyler emphasizes that instead of demanding justice, we should choose mercy, because God's mercy is a powerful sign and invitation in these times. If we insist only on justice, we must also recognize that we ourselves are accountable for our sins and their consequences. However, through His infinite love, Jesus offers us forgiveness and the opportunity to return to Him. Choosing mercy means humbling ourselves, trusting in God's saving grace, forgiving others, and responding to His call with faith and love. The message of Divine Mercy is a reminder that now is the time to repent, seek forgiveness, and prepare our hearts for the Lord. Before the day of justice comes, God is opening the door of His mercy, inviting us to choose His love and receive the gift of eternal salvation.
