Saint Louis IX
Saint Louis IX
Many Saints are known for a single attribute, such as holiness, wisdom, or courage. Then there are other Saints with an embarrassment of riches, famous for a number of holy achievements, like loving father, benevolent king, a just lawgiver, brave crusader, friend of the poor, dispenser of mercy, and defender of the faith.
That was St. Louis IX (1214-1270), the only French king to be declared a Saint. Father Chris Alar, MIC, tells the story of his favorite Saint (feast day: August 25).
Then join Fr. Mark Baron, MIC, in conversation with Matthew Mark McWhorter, a former corporate attorney and atheist who put the Bible “on trial″ — a search for the truth that led him to the Catholic faith.
