In the Hands of the Divine Potter

In today's homily, Fr. Mark Baron, MIC reflected on God's attributes: He is good, merciful, powerful, truthful, and sovereign. God's sovereignty reminds us that He is the highest authority over all creation and salvation history, providing a firm foundation for our spiritual and emotional lives. Using the image of the potter and the clay, Fr. Mark encouraged us to trust God's loving plan. We are called to humbly accept how God has created us and allow Him to shape our lives according to His wisdom. When we surrender to His will, we find peace and purpose; when we resist, our lives can become chaotic. He concluded by asking us to reflect: Am I allowing God, the Divine Potter, to shape my life with His love, wisdom, and mercy? On this great solemnity, Fr. Chris reflects on the mystery at the heart of the Marian Fathers’ charism: the Immaculate Conception—God’s greatest act of mercy ever given to a creature. Despite the grief of losing his father just days earlier, he reminds us that Our Lady’s purity is the blueprint for our own path to holiness. Long before the dogma was defined in 1854, the Church cherished this truth in Scripture and Sacred Tradition, seen in Gabriel’s greeting, “Hail, full of grace,” revealing Mary as wholly transformed by divine life.

Not partly divine, not a created being, not “like” God — but fully God and fully man.
