Saint Teresa of Ávila, a Carmelite nun, Spanish mystic, and now Doctor of the Church, was a prominent figure in the renewal of monastic and spiritual life, helping to reform the Carmelite order and widely known for her work, The Interior Castle. Her feast day is celebrated on October 15.
