St. John the Baptist

Saint John the Baptist is mentioned centuries before his actual birth in several Old Testament prophecies, particularly Isaiah’s, where he said, “A voice crying out in the wilderness to prepare the way of the Lord” (Is 40:30).

Normally, the Church does not celebrate the birth of saints, but rather their deaths. So why do we celebrate the Solemnity of the Nativity of St. John the Baptist on June 24? Father Chris Alar, MIC, explains.

Then hear the story of Steven Thomas who, after a profound conversion, felt a fire for the Catholic faith that led him from the seminary to a life dedicated to strengthening families.
