The Miracle That Shook the World

On October 13, 1917, Heaven opened — and the sun danced. Before 70,000 witnesses, the Miracle of the Sun at Fatima became one of the most powerful public manifestations of God’s reality in human history. It was no myth, no private vision — even the secular press confirmed it. Our Lady appeared to remind us of one timeless truth: stop offending God, repent, and return to Him.

From the Protestant Reformation of 1517 to atheistic communism in 1917, every century has seen an eruption of evil — and every time, God sends His Mother to warn us and call us back to mercy. Like the people of Fatima, we are being urged to pray, to do penance, and to trust in Divine Mercy.

As Fr. Chris Alar, MIC, reminds us: Now is the time of mercy. Don’t wait for the time of justice. If you’ve been struggling to overcome sin or renew your faith, today is the day to begin again. The Queen Mary — the Blessed Mother — is still guiding her children back to Christ.

When Jesus warns that “it will be for the one who stores up treasure for himself but is not rich in what matters to God” (Lk 12:21), He invites us to ask a deeper question: What truly matters to God? Wealth itself is not evil — Scripture shows that God entrusts riches to some for the good of others. But when wealth becomes our comfort, our security, or our idol, it becomes a chain that binds the soul.
