Mary, Mother of God

January 1 is not just New Year’s Day; it’s also the Solemnity of Mary, the Mother of God, a Holy Day of Obligation. Father Chris Alar, MIC, shows how the concept of Mary, Mother of God is revealed in Sacred Scripture, and how, by carrying  in her womb a divine Person, Mary contributed the genetic matter to the human form God took in Jesus Christ. Then hear the story of vestment-maker Susan Jayne Caballero, star of the fashion world, who made a life-changing decision that brought her and her talents to the Catholic Church.

Watch Fr. Chris Alar, MIC, and the Marian Fathers and Brothers from the National Shrine of The Divine Mercy on our weekly show, "Living Divine Mercy," airing on EWTN every Wednesday at 6:30 pm ET, with an encore presentation on Mondays at 9:00 am ET.  Through teaching segments, Bible and St. Faustina Diary excerpts, as well as real-life examples of people who are living Divine Mercy in their lives, you will learn why Jesus said Divine Mercy is mankind's last hope of salvation!

Join Fr. Chris Alar as he explains this amazing gift of mercy given to Mary, The Immaculate Conception, and why He did so. The Immaculate Conception is one of the most misunderstood dogmas of the Church and one that you need to understand to defend your faith.
We don't hear much about the four last things: Death, Judgment, Heaven and Hell. Join Fr. Chris Alar, MIC, in this first of a four-part series as he helps us to understand how to prepare for these things. This episode is about death. Are you afraid of dying? Venerable Fulton Sheen said we’re afraid of dying because we haven’t practiced for it. We also share the incredible story of a woman who experienced the violent death of her young husband and honored him by seeking and living out the message of Divine Mercy and forgiving his killer. Truly an amazing story.
