Many people have heard the term “rapture” in sermons, books, and movies. This so-called Rapture is often portrayed, especially by Protestants, as a moment when faithful Christians suddenly disappear from earth and are taken up into Heaven, while the rest of the world is left behind to face a time of terrible tribulation.

But what does the Bible and the Catholic Church really teach about this? Father Chris Alar, MIC, explains.
