Renewing Old Self with New Self

Fr. Anthony Gramlich, MIC reflects on Ephesians 4:22–24 . God calls us to leave behind our old ways and embrace a new life in Christ. Through His mercy and grace, we are invited to renew our minds, let go of sinful habits, and clothe ourselves with righteousness and holiness. This reflection reminds us that true transformation begins within, when we surrender our hearts to God and allow His Spirit to make us new. Each day is an opportunity to leave the old self behind and become more like Christ.

Father Anthony reflects on the blazing heart of the Gospel in John 3: “God so loved the world.” He explores how the Father does not send the Son as a threat, but as a gift—love taking flesh to rescue, not to condemn. As Jesus is lifted up for our healing, Father Anthony shows how faith is not mere agreement but a turning of the whole life toward the One who saves. Yet the passage presses deeper: the true crisis is not God’s anger, but our relationship to the Light.
Father Anthony reflects on John 19:28–30 — Jesus, knowing His hour has come, speaks the simple words “I thirst,” revealing both the real suffering of His humanity and the deeper longing of His heart for souls, and as He declares “It is finished” and bows His head, we behold the love that holds nothing back, completing our redemption and inviting us to receive His mercy with gratitude, surrender, and trust.
