What is the importance of Holy Communion? How is it that the Eucharist is the true Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Jesus Christ? Why must we eat His flesh and drink His Blood in Holy Communion to gain eternal life? Fr. Chris Alar explains in this episode of Explaining the Faith.

Today, Fr. Chris Alar reflects on the true meaning of love through the example of St. Martin of Tours — a man remembered for one simple act of charity. A Roman soldier who divided his cloak to clothe a beggar, St. Martin discovered that in serving the poor, he had served Christ Himself (cf. Mt 25:40). What seems like a small moment reveals an eternal truth: love is not sentiment but sacrifice.

In this episode, join Fr. Chris Alar, MIC, as he explores the life and incredible stories of one of the greatest saints of modern times, St. Padre Pio. Learn about the stigmata (Christ’s wounds) that he bore for 50 years and hear about some of his miracles and saintly virtues.
