Fr. Mark Baron reflects on the Sacred Heart of Jesus, a mystery that the Church invites us to contemplate as a window into God’s infinite love. The Sacred Heart is not merely a symbolic image but the very real human heart of Christ, which beats with divine love for every soul. In His Incarnation, Jesus took on a true human heart, and in doing so He reveals that God is not distant, but near — a God who suffers with us, who loves us personally, and who offers His very self for our salvation.
Fr. Jason Lewis reflects on the Feast of the Archangels, drawing us into the mystery of God’s heavenly hosts. Scripture tells us that angels are not vague symbols of goodness but real spiritual beings, created with unique missions to serve God and protect His people. St. Michael is God’s defender, waging war against Satan and his demons (Revelation 12). St. Gabriel is the herald of divine truth, bringing the Annunciation of salvation. St. Raphael, whose very name means “God heals,” is entrusted with bringing mercy, restoration, and guidance.
In today’s Gospel, we see the profound blessing of hearing and observing the Word of God—and no one exemplifies this more perfectly than our Blessed Mother Mary. She devoured the Scriptures, rejoiced in the Word made flesh, and prepared the way for Christ. As John the Baptist said, “He must increase; I must decrease.”
