Our Lady of Kibeho and her Message to the World

What was the Rwandan Genocide?

Rwanda is a beautiful small mountainous country in Africa that is called the “Switzerland of Africa.” The genocide happened in 1994 in a war between the Hutus and the Tutsi tribes. The population was 7 million at the time, and in four months over a million people were killed.

Was the Genocide foretold?

In the early 1980’s, the Blessed Mother appeared as a servant of the Lord to several Rwandan children and foretold a “river of blood.” She said the people must stop fighting and turn back to God or there would be bloodshed.

The apparitions are approved by the Catholic Church as authentic.

What was Our Lady’s message?

It was for the entire world and we must repent and convert and choose God over our sinful ways. We all need to be apostles of mercy and live these words and not just speak them, for the “harvest is great but the workers few” (Matt 9:37).

What is an important tool for destroying Satan and his lies?

Prayer is vital, and the Rosary is a powerful tool against Satan. Suffering is an important part of our life and the human condition, and we can use it to get closer to God.

Our Lady asked for the recitation of the Seven Sorrows Rosary; the Rosary reflecting on her sorrows. She promised it would help lead to conversion. It will strengthen our faith and assist us to leave evil ways and turn to God and the good. Faith doesn’t make it easy, it makes it possible.
