Today, December 10th, the Church celebrates the optional memorial of Our Lady of Loreto, commemorating the miraculous Holy House that journeyed from Nazareth to Loreto, Italy. As Pope Francis officially inscribed it into the General Roman Calendar in 2019, this feast reminds us of the profound mystery of the Incarnation and the sanctity of the Holy Family. Tradition tells us that angels transported Mary’s childhood home to protect it during the Crusades.

Within the history of the Catholic Church, there has been really no other saint quite like St. Thomas Aquinas, whose feast day we celebrate on Jan. 28. He is called the “Angelic” Doctor of the Church due to his great intellectual capacity and angelic purity.
